About

I am Lubna Zahan Lamia, a PhD student in Computer Science at Dartmouth College. My research interests broadly span natural language processing, human–AI interaction, large language models, and responsible AI.

I am particularly interested in understanding how AI systems generate, present, and mediate information in real-world settings. My recent work has examined model behavior related to meaning, framing, perspective, and sentiment, with the goal of better understanding how AI-generated information can influence human interpretation and trust.

More broadly, I am interested in developing evaluation and analysis methods that improve the transparency, reliability, and human-centered design of AI systems.

Feb 2026 — Awarded the University of Dhaka Merit Scholarship based on academic performance in the B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering program.

Jan 2026 — FinBERT-BiLSTM: A Deep Learning Model for Predicting Volatile Cryptocurrency Market Prices Using Market Sentiment Dynamics was accepted for publication in Applied Intelligence (Springer).

Nov 2025 — Received the SAC Highlight Award for the paper “Who Holds the Pen? Caricature and Perspective in LLM Retellings of History” at EMNLP 2025.
